Yarn 1 runs on Node.js 16 without issues. However, Node.js 16 is EOL (September 2023) and Yarn 1 is maintenance-only. No security patches for either. Yarn 1 lacks workspace protocol and PnP. Projects on this combination should migrate to Node.js 20 + Yarn 4.
