Git LFS: Must Be Installed Separately and Enabled Per-Repo

Git Large File Storage (LFS) is not bundled with git — it is a separate extension. Install from git-lfs.com or via your package manager. After installation, run `git lfs install` globally. Each repository needs `git lfs track` configured and `.gitattributes` committed. Cloning an LFS repo without LFS installed results in pointer files instead of the actual file content.

Enable globally: `git lfs install`
Recover missing files after cloning without LFS: `git lfs fetch && git lfs checkout`
